I’m a virtual assistant myself and pretty much everything that I’ll share with you is based on my experience.
What is a Virtual Assistant?
Virtual assistants are remote workers that provide various services to companies or individuals abroad. They can be categorized as freelancers, independent contractors or simply remote employees.
What does a Virtual Assistant do?
Virtual Assistant provides different services such as:
- Administrative task
- Marketing and sales task
- IT and programming task
- Finance and management tasks and more!
How Much You Should Pay?
Based on my OWN experience, this is how individuals and businesses determine their virtual assistant’s salaries. There are 3 criteria:
- Job role
- Skillset
- Years of experience
Beginner Virtual Assistant – An individual who has 0-6 months of experience in virtual assistance or remote work. They are new to this kind of work environment, need guidance, and are eager to learn and do more work. Starting hourly salary: $5.
Advanced Virtual Assistant – An individual who has not less than 2 years of experience in virtual assistance or remote work. They are knowledgeable and have the skillset that you’re looking for. Self-starters and can work with or without your supervision. Starting hourly salary: $8-10+.
Expert Virtual Assistant – An individual who has 4+ years of experience in virtual assistance or remote work. They have great management, and critical thinking skills and have expert skill sets you’ll probably be looking for. Starting hourly salary: $15+.
Depending on your budget and how important it is for you to work with the help of a virtual assistant, it’s really up to you to decide how much you’ll be paying. But always remember: If you pay peanuts, you’ll get monkeys 😉
